PETF athletes shine at the Okanagan Valley High School Cross Country Championships

Over 300 athletes competed at the Okanagan Valley high school cross country running championships on Tuesday Oct 24,2023 at the Larch Hills Nordic ski club in Salmon Arm BC.  With provincial championship qualifying spots at stake many PETF athletes had outstanding performances.

Maverik Rahkola  – senior boys 5km CHAMPION 17:18.2

Peter Kunka – senior boys 5km 2nd place 17:44.5

Moritz Barth – Senior boys 5km 3^rd place 17:54.8

Mika Aaserud – senior boys 5km 5th place 18:32.8

Jordis Hickey – Senior girls 5km 3rd place 21:21.9

Miles Hayden  – Junior boys 4km CHAMPION 14:06.1

Sebastian Osiowy – Junior boys 4km 16^th place 16:35.8

Presley Hickey – junior girls 4km 22nd place 19:51.3

The Penticton secondary senior boys also finished 2^nd over all as a team qualifying for the provincial finals. (Maverick Rahkola, Moritz Barth, Joshua Loucks, Glen Waldeck)

All of these athletes will be looking forward to competing November 4^th at the provincial championships at crescent park in Surrey BC.
